U.S. existing-home sales climbed above expectations during April, as buyers took advantage of the Obama administration's first-time home-buyer tax credit.
Home resales increased by 7.6%, to a 5.77 million annual rate from a revised 5.36 million in March, the National Association of Realtors said Monday. Originally, home sales in March were estimated rising by 6.8% to 5.35 million.
Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires expected sales last month to climb 4.7%, to a rate of 5.60 ...
