When Democrats propose that the Federal government do something -- anything -- the standard Republicans response is either "No, let the private sector do it" or "No, let the states do it." But when all else fails....In this case, Republicans -- again -- reject a Republican idea (high-risk pools are one of their constantly-touted "solutions" to health care) rather than have anything to do with actually helping their constituents get health insurance.

"The Limits of Limited Government."
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2010_05/023645.phpExamples like this are so common that our response is "so, what's new?" But too many voters never hear this. If we could arrange for a big red arrow pointing at each of these clowns, following them around like a personal rain cloud, with the words "He said WHAT?" printed on it.... But the next best thing is to write letters to the editor or TALK to our misinformed neighbors, co-workers, and in-laws. It takes persistence, but the message CAN get through. (After years of the GOP speaking out of both sides of their mouths, in 2006 and 2008 the voters GOT IT.)
