NY Times again ignores conservatives' previous support for judicial empathy
The New York Times again reported Republican attacks over President Obama's "desire for justices with 'empathy,' " without noting that numerous conservatives have stressed the importance of personal experience and compassion in judicial nominees.
Alito, Thomas, G.H.W Bush, Kit Bond, Al D'Amato, Strom Thurmond, and Mike DeWine to name a few...
Plus, we keep skipping over the fact that bias is an innate trait in the human animal--via race, class, gender, culture--which hides just below the surface of Rational Man (sic). We can't run from it. We should acknowledge it at the very least to help us keep it from impacting the law... denial allows us to keep our gaurd down on this issue.
