Subject: Coal Plant Hearing in Early County, GA!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

As you may have heard, there is a fight in Georgia right now over 2 new
proposed coal fire power plants.  One is proposed for Washington County, the other in Early County.  As you probably know, coal fire power plants are huge polluters.  Georgia’s energy demands must not be met with a dated, dangerous, and dying source.

From now until August 4th, the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) of
Georgia is holding a public comment period in which you can give your
opinions.  It is important to gather as much support as possible to protect
Georgia from 50 years of air and water pollution from coal power plants.

On Tuesday July 28th the EPD is holding a public hearing over the Longleaf Plant in Early County, near the Georgia-Alabama-Florida border.  Many of the supporters and beneficiaries of the plant will be there trying to convince the EPD we need the plant.  It is our job to make sure the hearing goes against the plant.  It is our goal to get as many students as possible in Early Country for the hearing.  The EPD cannot ignore a young, passionate, and diverse crowd.

Thanks for listening; your help is very appreciated. Please contact me if
anyone you may know would be interested in coming to the hearing!

  1. Grassroots can make a difference...we are fight proposed plant in Nevada known as Toquop. Getting real people in the fight can make a difference. Truly conservation is key...if you can keep peak demand down it goes a long way toward the fight. Learn what peak demand is in your area and then reduce energy usage in simple ways...ie. don't use clothes dryer and AC at the same time

    Good Luck
