Sums up the systemic issues that have created a dysfunctional governing process...

Talking Points Memo identifies its headline of the day...

Village Voice: "Scott Brown Wins Mass. Race, Giving GOP 41-59 Majority in the Senate
Looks like the progressives will kill the health care bill... the lives of millions of Americans would be improved and we would begin the process of getting in control of our long term deficits.

The bill is pretty bad... but worth passing.  The House Democrats already have their yes votes... its not like they can run from them though why'd they want to i'm not sure as most people I talk to still think this is "like canada's system"---opposition to health care is miles wide but an inch deep.  Time and time again I sit down with people who passionately oppose the bill until you actually ask them about whats in the bill, what they dislike, what they want, and who they think is causing the bill to turn out the way it has.

Problem is, Democrats still have the problem they've had all my lifetime--getting the job done politically. They win on charismatic coattails and the end results of conservative economic policy--time and time again.  But they never win..and sustain political power.  And with no political power you lose.  My friends on the left are correct... working and middle class families in this nation deserve better than what the Democratic Party continues to bring them--but right now its all we got to work with as the Republican party has been taken over by people who want to revive the small government agrarian economy of yesteryear...

Memo to Democrats... its your own fault--again.

So shall we begin to reorganize, educate, and empower--or do we wait a few more election cycles?
