A public apology
6.28.2010
I would just like to take a moment to publicly apologize to every single politician I have ever given an earful too--in person, via email, or just randomly out loud into the netherworld; for failing to attend an event, respond to an email, or any of the other random minutia I "expected" of you.
Your ability to navigate--in a responsive, proactive manner-- to the massive amount of events, correspondence, and obligations you are given is a wonder to behold. Doing the dirty work of raising money, smiling politely to caustic wingnuts (left, right, or center), and somehow keeping your head in the game is an inspiring feat of determination and commitment.
A whole lot of people--who sacrifice next to nothing of their own lives to the greater good-- hold you to standards no one human could ever possibly meet.
I know I have only seen the tip of the iceberg over the past two years of my foray into the shoes of a politician.
Anyways sorry for the flak; i'll try to do a better job in the future...
Look forward to watching you win/lose [circle one, depending on your political ideology] this November.
warmest regards,
James Attaway Nichols IV
