Atlanta lost 9,000 jobs in past year

Atlanta Business Chronicle:

Atlanta’s job creation pace continued to lag far behind America’s other large metros in April, according to figures released Wednesday morning by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Big Peach and its environs ranked 98th out of 100 major metros in terms of job creation, losing 9,000 non-farm jobs from April 2010 to April 2011. In terms of a percentage drop, metro Atlanta’s job decline equaled a 0.4 percent dip and ranked it 84th.
